So, tell me do you think my friend will spend his time in jail for a long time, or what?

My friend jailed for beating up on cop so badly!
Well... jeez... my friend got arrested today for beating up on a cop and ran away.... That's so stupid! He's only so young! He's only 22 year old! How did he get arrest??? Well, when the cop pulled up on him to check out his drivers license and registration of the vehicle... after checking out carefully... he failed to appear in the Traffic Court for the past 4 years, so then the cop decided to arrest him, somehow he turned around and beat him down, then ran away. Silly, isn't it?
So, tell me do you think my friend will spend his time in jail for a long time, or what?

iHaunt, when ever some one physicaly attacks a police officer, it's BIG TROUBLE. Your friend, especialy if he injured the officer in question, is very likely going to be sent away for the maximum ammount of time allowable by law, and the parole board also takes a very dim view of convicts who attack cops. I don't know all the detales of the crime in question, but if this had happened in Illinois, and the cop had to be hospitalized, or there were broken bones, he would be looking at 7 to 10 years.
Putting your hands on a cop is an absolute taboo in today's world. Even touching his or her uniform can be leagaly considered an assult. Beating up a cop is very bad business. If some one KILLS a cop in Illinois, he's probably going to get the death panalty, or at the very minimum, he will get life in prison WITH NO possibility for parole.

What Mike said. I'm afraid your friend is in deep kimchi, as my husband would say.

Hopefully. I know he's your friend, but if he's willing to go after a guy with a gun and a club, think what a danger he could be to an unarmed person. If he can't control himself, it's better to see him off the street.iHaunt wrote:So, tell me do you think my friend will spend his time in jail for a long time, or what?
Case in point; just imagine how much better the world would be if someone had locked up Andy and Spooky years ago...

I got the word from another friend.... he told me that he will stay in jail until the court date for him to go. Still don't know when yet.

You need to rethink your friends.
