The Dollar Tree and Big Lots have some Halloween stuff out. Not a lot yet, but Halloween is definitely in the air.

Yesterday was my last day of vacation, so I thought a Halloween Hunt on the motorcycle would be a nice way to close it out. I did actualy see candy corn, and various other Halloween themed candies for sale at the Walgreens in Pontiac, and a bunch of empty shelvs, that appeared as though they were being made ready for all the Halloween Merchandise. I haven't been to any of my local stores yet, but will be goiong on Thursday to fill a perscription.
Just for giggles, and to put myself in the mood, I bought myself a small packet of Corn Candy as a little pre Halloween "Trick or Treat."

TCM was showing Margaret O'Brien movies yesterday and one of them was Meet Me In St. Louis, which has one of the best segments about Halloween.
That made my day.

The drug stores are starting to put out the Halloween decorations, as they usualy do around mid August. For me, I had myself a "Little Halloween" celebration last Friday. I took a trip to Bachelor Grove, and then I went home and watched a couple of horror movies. I even screened "IT's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" before the movies began.

I went to our local Michaels today just to see what was out. They have a lot of stuff, but still toward the back. I'm thinking they will bring it farther forward in a few weeks.

As August winds down, all the stores tend to put out more Halloween themed merchandise. And the pumpkins go on sale usualy in early September. Thats just a little more then two weeks away.

Yeah, those 'sale' racks can get pretty brutal.

LOL I know, and it doesn't even have to be a sale. I could do that anytime. You know those Rachael Ray knives are pretty good at cutting thru bone?

I prefer the satisfying 'crunch' of a good pair of kitchen shears.

Old records do me just fine, or a cricket bat.
