Just saw The Reader; it was really good, but melancholy. Don't watch it when you're in a bright, happy mood. Watch it when the winter doldrums have you down, and you just want to savor the sadness of human complexity.

Well I thought "The Book of Eli" was a great film. A major departure from your typical "end of civilization' flick. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, so sufice it to say that the movie is loaded with suprises. The engint, especialy, was a major shot in the proverbial arm.

I'll probably get ripped for admitting this but, on the worst winter days I haul out the Frankie & Annette movies. They cheer me up.

As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

lol i've never heard of it either

mike, my brother said that "the Book of Eli" was a fantastic movie! i'm anxious to see it as well.. how long was it?
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Well the good news is, we are FINALY in the last week of January, and though February isn't much better, it's only 28 days long, and we can see the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. However, in view of all the bad luck I had last Summer with bleeding ulcers, gout and the like, I dare say that I hope it isn't the head light of an on comming train.

But still, Lent is less then a month away, February is a short month, I'm going to make a ton of overtime, and Spring will spring in March.

My year usualy does get brighter starting in March, but as I said, January and February are the two worst months for me personaly, though February is better then January, and this february I am going to be really busy with photo asignments, so the overtime I will be making will take some of the curse off of the February mid Winter doldrums.

Adrian, "The Book of Eli" was a little over two hours long, but wll worth the time and money spent to enjoy it. At least that's the way I see it. I plan to have it in my personal collection when it comes out on DVD.
