My husband doesn't like it, either, Morticia, but it is a great favorite of my older son's.

I like Svengoolie, he can be pretty funny.
I wish Elvira could have made her last show work. I've been buying the DVD compilations.

The hippie is back! I definitely suggest you include Mama on your list this year. I just got it from Redbox and can't wait for it to get dark out.

Honestly, I was disappointed with that one. The first movie was much better, I thought.

Has anyone here seen Stoker? We bought that one a week or so back. It said on the outside that it was "eerie and chilling," so I bought it without knowing anything about it. It gave me nightmares! It's directed by some Asian dude who doesn't speak English, and this is his first American movie (Nicole Kidman is one of the actors, so these are A-list people). He is well-known in Asia, apparently, and everyone wanted to work with him.
Anyway, that movie has this Asian thing going, where the images are kind of quiet and creepy and really stick with you. (I don't mean the setting is Asian--quite the contrary. It is set in America, North Carolina, IIRC.) Then, the story itself is somewhat unconventional and doesn't go where I expected it to go. It really, really rattled me. Gave me one of the worst nightmares I've had in decades.

Speaking of Svengoolie, last Saturday he featured the only wearwolf movie produced by Hammer. "Curse of the Wearwolf."

yes, we watched...
but it was a bit long-winded...
no real horror until the very end...
doubt i'll ever watch that flick again
