I wish my mother had kept some of my old Halloween stuff. I remember the paper/plastic open backed costumes with the plastic mask. I was Casper one year, and Strawberry Shortcake another. I would love to have them I don't even have pictures! I don't know if Mom didn't have a camera back then or if she just didn't think to snap a pic.
I Love Love Love vintage holiday stuff. Not only Halloween, but others as well.

we always made our own costumes and recycled parts over the years so none of them exist anymore and my folks were terrible at taking photos so none of our handy work was preserved on film either.
I think that is why I'm such an avid photographer. I want as much of my world on record for the future.
...and here's one that your post reminded me that I had

I went to a parochial school that used to do springtime 'shows' too.
worst one ever (that I haven't blocked out) was a group giddy-up dance to the theme song from 'Dallas'.

I'm gonna dig through the photo albums and find all the Halloween pics through the years; I know Mummy took pictures every year. One year wee brother was a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup!!

I wish my mother would have taken pics too. Every chance I get, I'm taking pics of my kids, they will have tons of them to go thru when they get older.

You should. We've got pictures of us at every birthday, every Christmas, every Halloween, every vacation, every band concert, first day of school, graduation, trip to D.C., and thousands more. Memories fade, but photography can last forever. Your kids may gripe and moan at having to pose, but one day they'll thank you for it.
