				Maybe distantly, or not so distant, I hear Scottish people marry their cousins. I know my grandma almost did.

I'm only one quarter Scottish, and, despite being born in West Virginia, my blood is sufficiently mongrelized so that I'm certain there was no inbreeding among my immediate ancestors.  Plus,

				Ice numbs the tongue, making it harder to detect the nuances of the whisky.  A splash of fresh, clean water on the other hand is not a bad thing, and is said to help open up the flavors a bit.
