I quit smoking in the Summer of 1983. Before that I was smoking 3 to 5 packs of unfiltered Lucky Strikes per day. I had the worst 'smokers cough" ever. That was my primary motovation to quit. Back then, cigarettes were 75 cents a pack, or $7.50 per carton of 10 packs. I thought that was getting too steep, so that was another motovation to quit.
I'm sure glad I did.

My friend's favorite cigarette is Vantage Menthol and a pack is worth about $3.99 in VA, and $2.69 in NC.

Here in Ill, they are about 5 bucks a pack, or 50 bucks a carton. Like I said, I am SO GLAD I no longer smoke.

My state pays the highest of the nation's taxes. I don't smoke but I do think it's ridiculous.
At the Cigarette store I work at, you'd pay $9.44 for a pack of Marlboro.
You'd be paying close to a hundred bucks for a carton.
If you want the "cheaper packs" you'd be paying a little over 7 bucks for a pack, and about 75 bucks for a carton.
A lot of people have been going to the Indian reservations, New York state wants to fight it, but the Seneca Nation is a Sovereign nation. There's no way they'd get away with it.
