Oh I could! lol Just because it looks nasty doesn't mean it is.
I'd love to serve that at a party..the expressions on peoples' faces would be entertainment alone!

Same here! It may look like a kitty litter box, but it's really a tasty treat. At least I'm assuming it is since I have yet to try it.
Now...if it SMELLED like a litter box that would be another thing. :p

When you think about it, people eat stuff that resembles something gross all the time.
Even a chocolate bar can resemble a poo log, but people love chocolate bars. Rice can very well resemble...lice. Someone in my highschool once said that the mashed potatoes were made with glue, and supported his argument by putting his small carton of milk in the potatoes and picking up the tray with it. You could even argue that squash when mixed with butter and brown sugar, resembles puke.
Then again people eat meat all the time too. And meat is little more than the muscle tissue of an animal, and you get to eat their blood veins and such. From that perspective, it doesn't sound very appetizing. And yet, meat tastes good.
And sadly, I still havn't made the recipe yet. I mean to, but I might have to wait until I move out. I don't know if my grandma would let me make it, and I don't think the presentation would be right with just a regular cake pan.
But needless to say, the point I'm making here is just because it looks gross, doesn't mean it is. Granted, some of the candy they come up with for Halloween...like the human fingers and feet, and the candy noses with the snot coming out of them...now those gross me out.
So I guess I can't really blame people. But living with so many cats, the look of a litter box doesn't bother me. But the smell on the other hand..

I think candy makers tend to go out of their way to make chocolate bars not look like turds. Why do you think Snickers bars and Milky Ways have those criss-cross patterns on the bottoms of them? I don't think poo usually comes out that way.....

This is the most popular recipe I use at my Halloween party each year. Everyone loves it. Once you get past the sickening appearance, it really is good! I usually take it a step further and add red and green Tootie Fruities to the Tootsie Rolls to give it a bloody, mucus texture, LOL. The cake is really good if after it's been in the fridge and gets cold.
