I'm happy because we are having lows in the 40s for the next two days. After our 110-degree summer, this is heavenly!

We're having highs around 70 which is totally wrong for us in September.

The weather WAS nice today. Plus my daily Bacon/lettuce/tomato sandwich was particulary good today. Just the right amount of mayonaise, and the tomato was fresh and ripe and juicy. Last but not least, the bacon was fried to perfect crispyness!

Almost forgot...Nobody tried to kill me today either

I figured out the computer problem I've been working on for the last few weeks! Now I can finish that project up and turn my attention to my favorite time of the year. That would be Hallowseason in case you didn't know.

I'm happy because Governor Brown just now made self-driving cars legal in California. Now I can take a nap on the way to and back from L.A. And if I get one of these cars before people are aware of them I can sit in the back seat during Halloween and make everyone think a ghost is driving me around. Wahoo!

Wait it really works like that? Because i thought that was just something I misunderstood when I was a little kid and heard something similar.

Do you mean will we be able to get in a car, tell it where to go, then read a book or take a nap during the trip? Yes. Eventually. There are a lot of doors to knock down first. It's still way too soon to know how we'll use this new technology. One thing's for sure, it's going to change the world. When I heard about the news yesterday I went into my roommate's room and told her to remember this very moment. When she's 80 and her grandchild asks what life was like before robo-cars she will be able to tell the kid about what she was doing when she first heard about them.

Jalopnik has a great article on this subject. I love their angle that this is actually a step back in human transportation. They make an interesting comparison between robo-cars and horses.

http://jalopnik.com/5945761/a-driverles ... -youll-own

Something they didn't touch on... the lawmakers and enforcers are about to be tested. What's going to happen when a driverless car hits a pedestrian? When... not if. Who's to be blamed? The passenger? Owner? Manufacturer? Programmer? Pedestrian? Obama?

Thing is, computers are way more precise than humans. They don't text, they don't turn around to yell at the kids in the back seat, they don't put on makeup while driving (yet), they never get distracted (well... almost never), and above all... they don't drink. If someone steps in front of a moving car they will more likely be killed if a human is driving it. Unless the machine malfunctions. Which will happen. Humans malfunction all the time while behind the wheel.

Interesting times we live in, ain't it?

BTW: How did Nevada beat us to this?!?

I am sure there will be a book's worth of legislation for this. Just what we need, more laws and fees/taxes.

That car is soo cool NeverMore, it would be funny to see someone not driving it on Halloween, just chillin the back seat or better yet put Bucky in the Drivers seat, one that looks like the skeleton on Halloween Town would be awesome!!

Great idea! Something like this...

Unfortunately one of the requirements in Cali is that a living human being has to be sitting in the driver's seat. Maybe IloveMichaelMyers can pull it off. She lives in Nevada.
