Marie Leveaux
Voodoo priestess of imfamy in New Orleans. Many a legend is written about this true life woman of eerie southern history. Have you heard of her?
The dark night beckons. Bear us your soul, it whispers. Expose your wicked delights. Join the rest of us on the wind. The dark night beckons and we answer. Sailing into the shadows.

I have read many books and stories about her, and visited her tomb in St. Louis #1 cemetary in New Orleans. I grew up in Baton Rouge, which is about an hour away. There's a book called The White Chalk Cross about her, it's really good.
I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

Hi Nostalgiascape, No I've never heard about her, only Elizabeth Bathory, but I look forward to hearing what you have to tell about her.
geekmidwinter, you're so darn lucky to have gone to New Orleans, I've always wanted to go there. I still hope to one day, hopefully that flooding didn't do alot of permient damage
It has so many beautiful qualities to see and explore.

Voodoo is actually a mix of catholicism and slave religion carried over from Africa, for the most part. People assume is witchcrafty or devil worshippy because their way of avoiding the devil's retribution was to keep him happy and show him respect. But they were aware of the evil and most definitely didn't want it around, and worshipped a benevolent god/goddess too. It is very interesting, and when I get some time, I'll find some more stuff on it for you guys.
