for decades the village was home to new york's bohemian movement which, along with beatniks and hippies, included a gay subculture the village is home of the stonewall riots and lots of lgbt activism however, the predominantly gay district in 21st century manhattan is chelsea why do you ask

why because gay rights are human rights - plain and simple i'm not gay but i'll march for gay rights i'm not black but i'll march for civil rights i'm not a union member but i'll march with aggrieved workers i have va healthcare but still i march for universal healthcare i don't live on the gulf coast anymore but still i protest bp again, why simply put, because i'm a human being with the capacity for empathy who believes in fighting for social and economic justice

hung out at a comic store then grabbed a bite at a diner before the movie evil dead II on the big screen with a theater full of horror geeks was awesome
