I also have weird dreams from time to time. Believe it or not, I had a dream on night, about a couple of years back, that I was in my childhood home on Drake Street, I was watching "Little House on the Prairie" on the tv we had in the Livingroom at that time (which would be mid 70s) and our Irish Setter, Shamrock, snuggled up to me.

Go figure.

Horseman, they ARE still concerned about us and they STILL Love us. Just because they can't eat dinner with us or shake our hands doesn't mean that they no longer exist. I even have had dreams about dead pets from my past. Go figure.

Andy, that makes sense as that often happens to older people. My father told me some 'woppers' of dreams he had about co workers from the 1920s and 1930s, Mode T Fords, his late Uncle who was shot to death by mistake by one of Al Capone's guys, and it goes on and on and on.

I absolutely believe in the afterlife, and I know that our relatives are still with us.

I think one of my favorite dreams that I have often is about my grandmother, she was a sweet and kind woman that died when I was in my 20s, so she didn't get to meet my kids. In my dreams I talk to her about my kids, I tell her how they are doing, or about the things they love to do. Sometimes I've seen her with my kids, she plays with them and reads to them, and she even makes brownies for them just like she did for us when we were kids. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, or maybe on some cosmic level unknown to us it's a different reality where everyone is together.

As for dreaming about being a kid again, I think that is perfectly normal as I often have dreams like that.

Well, I don't know what's happening with halloween.com today, but it's not letting me bold, color and enlarge my texts, so I'll have to ask everyone's pardon for the plain text.

HeadlessHOrseman, I often see my loved ones, but I don't always dream that I'm a kid again. In fact, I am usually an adult, but the places where I meet with them in my dreams. St. Christina's Church or St. Christina's School, Mt. Greenwood Park, Glen Germany's a.k.a. Dressels; all the places we knew and love about home back in the day. But I do, on occasion, dream about being a kid again.

A bit of beef, a piece of cheese, or a fragment of an underdone potato.

Bah...
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

I do have to admit, when I was a kid, and I ate something heavy right before going to bed, I did have nightmares because of it. I don't remember anything specific nightmare I had, but I was always careful of what I ate as it got closer to bed time. I still have to do that now, because of acid reflux.

I pop famotadine like they're tic tacs. Getting old sucks, but I guess it beats the alternative.

I take an Ameprezol once a day as per my doctors orders, but the main thing is I don't eat anything right before going to bed for the night or too close to that time. If I stop eating around 8 or so I'm usually okay,. But I totally agree with you. I just had 3 teeth pulled out of my head in as many months, my gastric bypass will only allow for so much, so eating takes time and patience. So again, I totally agree. Getting old is no day at the Harvest Moon Drive-In by any means.

I still have dreams about Halloween every few months, most of them are usually fun, but I still get nightmares as well, and the other night I had a really messed up dream that I can only describe as horrifying. It's a bit graphic, so you might want to skip it.

It was Halloween night and I was out trick-or-treating with my friends, and I was about ten years old in the dream. At first it started out like usual, the streets were busy and everybody was having fun, until we came to a long deserted road.

There were no houses on the road, but the whole road had rows of jack o' lanterns on both sides the whole length of the road, which looked like it stretched for a mile, and from where we were standing we could tell there was a church at the end of the road.

We saw the lights on and decided to start walking the long road towards the church, as we got closer we saw that it was decorated so we thought that there was a party, but as we approached the church we saw bags and bags of candy laying on the ground as if they were dropped in a hurry, but there wasn't anybody around.

At first we thought that we hit the motherload of candy and we started scooping up as much as we could, then we heard the most horrible scream come from inside. We were startled and dropped the candy, as we stood there we weren't sure if it was real or if it was a prank, there was silence, and as I said, there wasn't anybody around.

My friends suggested that we leave immediately, but I laughed at them and said that I was going in, they stood there staring at me as I went to the door. As I was about to walk inside I could hear my friends running away behind me, but I continued to go inside.

When I got inside I saw blood everywhere, it was on the floors, on the benches, and even covering the walls and ceiling, the trail of blood looked like someone had been dragged up the walls and across the ceiling, but there were no bodies anywhere. I stood there in silence trying to comprehend what was in front of me, I saw another trail of blood leading straight to the end of the aisle where there was a podium dripping with blood and it had a inverted cross on it, the cross looked like it was turned that way by a large claw, as there were deep scratches in the wood.

As I approached to have a closer look, another loud scream echoed out in the church. I jumped up and I heard another scream, I could tell it was coming from upstairs. I went to the bottom of the staircase and saw blood flowing from the top of the steps to about the half way point where it was starting to pool.

I went up the stairs and followed the trail of blood to the door that went to the church bell. I stood there for a moment and I thought about turning back and then another scream rang out, I waited another moment and then went in.

I wasn't prepared for what I saw next, there was dead bodies and blood everywhere, as I started to walk around the bell I saw the minister on the ground and something with wings was standing over him with their back turned to me. As I got closer it turned and it was a female demon, it growled at me then grabbed the minister by the throat, he looked at me but couldn't say a word.

Then the demon said that if I killed the minister that it would let me live. I told her that I couldn't do it, and she got angry and her wings spread out as she growled, she then scratched the minister's face and he screamed again, then she said it was my last chance and that she would kill me even more viciously than the rest of them if I didn't do it. I told her I won't do it and then she yelled out the loudest, most horrific scream you ever heard, it was so loud that the bell started ringing and the ground was shaking, I covered my ears trying to stop the sound from hurting me, but the scream got louder and louder, then the demon jumped towards me ... and I woke up.

My heart was pounding and I was covered in sweat, and I can honestly say that was one of the scariest nightmares I've ever had.

Wow, that sounds like a movie scenario, or a story, though you'd need more of an ending for it. You'd need a way for the boy to fight the demon. But the beginning is amazing. You could do something creative with that.
