Post by Halloween Freek » Wed Aug 29, 2007 11:41 pm

So today I took at one Halloween decoration, and after that it was like addicting. . I Couldnt stop taking out more and more decorations. Just so the public doesnt think im weird i didnt put out anything in the front yard, but the side yard graveyard is done   and the entire backyard. I'm crazy arent I? One thing led to another and i was hanging cobwebs on the railings that lead up to the deck. Im in the Halloween Mood now

Fantastic--it's not even September yet but your "side graveyard" is already up. Well, heck, I don't know why, but there sure is nothing like putting up a spooky display, rigging it with lights and sound effects and whatever you might have.

Hey, make sure you have room for a little "ZOMBIE SANTA CLAUS" doll that can maybe stand in a window or something.

Speaking of "rigging it with lights".... I'm just building up a front yard graveyard. What do you use to light them? Do I have to run lines from inside (my electrical is old & sucks) or are there decent but inexpensive lights out there that run on batteries?

I started a little thread on simple special effects nextdoor, for those of us who are getting excited about putting up a few things here and there.

For Special Effects/Lighting, i have 2 fog machines placed behind two separate tombstones, that are on a timer, these are ground foggers which keep the fog low, behind the fog machines are two timed lights (green and red) which flash for like 2 seconds, and appear to be coming from the ground. At one headstone where i have a corpse, i placed a strobe light underneath the corpse which gives it that (beyond the grave look). Thats all i've done so far

I think everyone on my street loves Halloween. I think last year every house except a senior citizens house was decorated in some way, shape or form. The town is like 150 miles from New York City   Very Boring
