True that. I often wonder, when I'm freezing in January, where all that frigid air goes in the beastly heat of July, and vice versa.

I'm finally getting some Christmas stuff outside taken down. But the inflatables need to dry out. Snow finally melted and it's the weekend, so it's a good time to do it.
Unless it rains...then well. I might have to just put them somewhere to hang and dry.
Hoping to get a Valentine's display up soon and try my new projector.

Yesterday it was 70° here.

Unbelievable in the PNW for January

Today it might reach 60°, which is still unusual for winter in Oregon.

Our week has been spring-like, but not as high as 70.

We've had a mostly cloudy week, though it was mild yesterday, and I was able to work in my yard.

It really does a body (and mind) good to feel the sun on your face, even in the middle of winter.

Well, I noticed that my neighbor's yard has some daffodils making buds, so it won't be long now before spring.

My front yard is crowded with daffodil shoots!

I don't know much about their growth cycle, other than they propagate very well, at least here in oregon.

All I know is I love them.

Getting back on topic, I'm hanging out at the coast this week.

With the holidays and then our prolonged ice storm its been empty since just after Christmas.

I'm using the opportunity to undecorate.

I have everything down and boxed except the tree which i'm still kind of enjoying. It has only lights now, which I find peaceful and somewhat melancholy.

The neighborhood is a mix of retired full-time residents and a few properties owned by snowbirds, and the now absent summer crowd.

It is sparsely populated this time of year so it's quiet and relaxing.

Our tree is still up with just the lights. My husband says he doesn't want to take it down until the equinox, which is, like, a week or ten days before Easter. I'd vote for the first of March myself.

I keep strings of warm white lights out all year long.

I love the soft glow in the evening.

Some folks in our neighborhood do that. You can see the lights glimmering on their back patios and yards on summer evenings. Very pretty.
